The VSDP mechanical safety door switch is the contact-based backbone of machine guarding: a positive-opening position switch that reports whether a guard door, hinged panel or sliding cover is really closed. A PA66 flame retardant body, gold plated silver alloy contacts and an IP67 seal keep it working in coolant mist, dust and washdown zones, while five contact configurations from a single 1NC contact up to 3NC allow one part family to serve simple panels and redundant safety circuits in Europe, North America and Southeast Asia.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| VSDP-C0 | 1NC + 1NO | One normally closed plus one normally open contact | 11-12 / 23-24 | Door monitoring with status feedback |
| VSDP-C1 | 1NC | Single normally closed contact | 11-12 | Simple guard door monitoring |
| VSDP-C2 | 2NC | Two normally closed contacts | 11-12 / 21-22 | Dual channel door monitoring |
| VSDP-C3 | 2NC + 1NO | Two normally closed plus one normally open contact | 11-12 / 21-22 / 33-34 | Dual channel monitoring with signal output |
| VSDP-C4 | 3NC | Three normally closed contacts | 11-12 / 21-22 / 31-32 | Redundant monitoring on high risk guards |
Select the model from the required switching logic: single channel monitoring uses VSDP-C1, dual channel monitoring uses VSDP-C2, and redundant circuits or category 4 architectures use VSDP-C4. The NO contact of VSDP-C0 and VSDP-C3 is intended for door status feedback to the machine controller, not for safety functions.
Application and Industry ScenariosThe series is installed on hinged and sliding guard doors of machining centres, injection molding machines, press brakes, packaging lines, woodworking machines, robot cells, conveyor covers and test fixtures. Machine builders in Europe use the 2NC version for dual channel monitoring with a safety relay, while Asian integrators often specify the 2NC+1NO version to report door status to a PLC without extra wiring.
Selection and Installation Notes| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What does positive opening mean? | The contacts are mechanically forced apart by the key with a defined force, so a welded or sticky contact cannot remain closed when the guard is opened. |
| Which model is best for a category 4 circuit? | Two redundant NC contacts are the minimum; VSDP-C2 or VSDP-C4 gives the redundancy needed for higher categories, together with a suitable safety relay. |
| Can the head be rotated? | Yes, the head rotates in 90 degree steps, which allows the key to enter from the top, bottom or either side of the switch. |
| Is a key supplied with the switch? | The operation key is ordered separately from the DE-K1 to DE-K6 range so that the right geometry can be matched to the door. |
| What is the difference between VSDP and VSD? | VSDP is the mechanical contact series without locking; VSD adds a 1300 N electromagnetic guard locking function for doors that must stay locked until the machine is safe. |
Switches are packed ten per inner box and one hundred per export carton, each with mounting screws and an instruction sheet. Operation keys are packed separately by type. Every batch is function tested for contact continuity, forced opening and seal integrity before shipment, and CE documentation is supplied with each order.
